Anna and Jordan Rathkopf are a Brooklyn-based photography and directing duo known for emotionally grounded, visually honest storytelling.
Their work moves between the personal and the universalβexploring family, identity, and the quiet complexities of everyday life.
In 2016, after Anna was diagnosed with cancer, they began turning the camera inward. As a patient and caregiver, they documented what felt urgent and unfiltered, using photography to stay close to each other and to what felt real. That instinct continues to guide their approach: intimate, clear-eyed, and rooted in trust.
Their first book, HER2: The Diagnosed, The Caregiver, and Their Son, was published in 2024 and received the Photographic Achievement Award from the International Photographic Council at the United Nations. The project has been featured on CNN, Good Morning America, and in media outlets around the world, with an ongoing exhibition tour. Jordan also founded the Patient Caregiver Artist Coalition, a nonprofit supporting artists with lived experience and using art as a tool for systemic change.
They collaborate with people and organizations who value honest, enduring workβstories that donβt just reflect life, but help reframe it.
