What does illness reveal when you photograph it from inside a family?
After Anna Rathkopf was diagnosed with breast cancer at thirty-seven, she and Jordan began photographing from opposing positions inside the same event. Each became both author and subject: the person looking and the person being looked at. Their son Jesse moves between the two accounts, absorbing what neither parent can fully see. Made over 7 years, HER2 is not simply a record of treatment, but a study of proximity—how illness redistributes attention, fear, responsibility and intimacy within a family.

Anna grew up in Prague before her breast cancer diagnosis reshaped her and Jordan's family — and in 2025–2026, the project she and Jordan built from that experience is touring galleries and public spaces across Czechia.
Presented in partnership with Dialog Jessenius, the series pairs the exhibition with panel discussions and workshops on parental cancer, oncofertility, women's empowerment, and early detection — responding to the sharp rise in breast cancer among women under 50. The tour builds on HER2's international recognition (CNN, Good Morning America, the UN's International Photographic Council award) and is supported by the U.S. Embassy Prague.

The Chick Mission’s Annual Gala returns on Thursday, October 24 for an inspiring celebration of our mission in support of women battling cancer and brighter fertility futures.
Our biggest party of the year gathers supporters, survivors, medical professionals, industry leaders, and advocates for one hell of a night. Dollars raised fuel our vital efforts in changing the women’s healthcare and cancer care status quo. As a part of this year’s event, HER2 will have an exhibition in the space for the event recognizing Kate Ryder, Founder & CEO of Maven Clinic with the annual Chick On A Mission award.
