Stories Shaped by Lived Experience
Our work is rooted in empathy and shaped by our journey as survivors and caregivers, committed to authentically representing the patient and caregiver experience. Recognized by Communication Arts, The Communicator Awards, American Photography, and the United Nations, we create storytelling that resonates deeply, capturing resilience and connection in every project.

Our Book: HER2: The Diagnosed, the Caregiver, and Their Son
Described as a “must-see story” and the What to Expect When You’re Expecting for cancer under 50, our book provides an honest, dual-perspective look at navigating illness. Featured by CNN, Good Morning America, LensCulture, and HUCK Magazine, this project reflects our dedication to raw, relatable storytelling that reaches a broad audience.

South Brooklyn Heroes

In the early days of the pandemic lockdown in Southern Brooklyn, the Rathkopfs documented the experiences of over 100 volunteers helping mutual aid groups through genuine portraits and interviews. This impactful project emphasizes community strength and was featured in prominent platforms, including a public art exhibition on LINKNYC digital kiosks throughout NYC, the Smithsonian Institute's “VACCINES AND US” initiative, and Photoville in 2021 and 2022.

The Rathkopfs are planning a 2025, 5-year anniversary retrospective exhibition.
